Cookie Policy
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites function reliably, to remember your preferences, and to give website owners basic insight into how their pages are used.
This page explains which cookies the Horologion website uses, why we use them, and how you can control or remove them.
2. Cookies We Use
We keep our cookie use to a minimum. The table below lists every cookie category active on this site.
| Category | Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | cookie_consent | Records your cookie preference so the consent banner does not reappear on subsequent visits. | 365 days |
| Essential | session | Maintains basic site session state. Contains no personally identifiable information. | Session |
| Analytics | _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics. Collects anonymised data on page views and visitor paths to help us understand site usage. IP addresses are anonymised before storage. | Up to 2 years |
We do not use marketing, advertising, or social media tracking cookies. No data from this site is used for targeted advertising.
3. Essential Cookies
Essential cookies are required for the website to function. They enable core features such as remembering your consent choice. Without them, certain parts of the site may not behave as expected. Because they are strictly necessary, they do not require your consent under applicable law — but we disclose them here in the interest of transparency.
4. Analytics Cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site — which pages receive the most interest, how long people spend reading, and where visitors come from in general geographic terms. This helps us improve the site over time.
Analytics data is collected in aggregate and anonymised form. We have enabled IP anonymisation in our Google Analytics configuration, meaning individual IP addresses are never stored. We do not use the analytics data to identify or contact individual visitors.
Analytics cookies are optional. You can accept or decline them using the preference controls at the bottom of this page or via the consent banner when you first visit the site.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Our website embeds a Google Maps iframe on the homepage to help visitors locate the atelier. Google may set cookies in connection with this embed. These are governed by Google's own privacy and cookie policies, which you can review at policies.google.com. We do not control the cookies placed by the Maps embed.
We embed fonts from Google Fonts. These are loaded via a stylesheet request and do not, to our knowledge, set cookies. Font requests are subject to Google's standard logging practices.
6. Managing Your Preferences
You can update your analytics cookie preference at any time using the controls below. Your choice is saved in the cookie_consent cookie on your device.
Required for the site to function. Cannot be disabled.
Anonymised data that helps us understand how visitors use the site. Optional.
7. Browser-Level Controls
In addition to the preference panel above, you can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block all cookies, delete existing cookies, or set preferences for specific sites. Blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of some websites, including this one.
Browser documentation for common browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Cookies and website data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data
8. Opt-Out of Google Analytics
Google provides a browser add-on that prevents your data from being used by Google Analytics across any site: the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. This is an alternative to the preference toggle above.
9. Policy Updates
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in the cookies we use or in applicable law. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We recommend reviewing this page periodically if you have concerns about how your data is handled.
