A Workshop Built on Patience

Horologion was founded on a straightforward idea: watches last longer when someone takes the time to work on them properly.

How Horologion Came to Be

Horologion began as a single bench in a shared space near Sukhumvit in the early 2010s. The founder, who had trained in movement servicing before moving to Bangkok, noticed that watches collected dust waiting weeks for repairs at larger shops — often only to return with the same problem, inadequately addressed.

The name Horologion comes from the Greek word for a timepiece — a small homage to the idea that watchmaking is a discipline with a long history of deliberate, considered work. We carry that thinking into everything we do here.

We opened our current atelier on Sukhumvit Soi 31 in 2016. The workshop handles quartz and mechanical pieces of all kinds — from daily-wear dress watches brought in for a fresh battery and clean, to vintage automatics requiring full disassembly and regulation.

We remain a small workshop by choice. Every piece that enters is assessed personally, and we write up what we find before we begin. Clients who have been coming to us for years tell us they appreciate knowing exactly what was done and what was found — so that's remained our practice.

Our Mission

To carry out watch servicing at a standard that extends the life and accuracy of each piece — without unnecessary work, without concealed costs, and with a clear written record of every visit.

What We Value

  • Transparency: We tell you what we find before we start any work.
  • Proportionality: We recommend only what the piece needs.
  • Documentation: Every service produces a written record you keep.
  • Continuity: We treat your watch as something worth preserving, not replacing.
The People

Who Works Here

NC

Service Technician

Pailin focuses on quartz movement servicing and cosmetic refinishing — strap fittings, crystal swaps, and case care. She manages the in-house strap catalogue and client correspondence.

SR

Siriporn Rattana

Workshop Coordinator

Siriporn manages the workshop log, client intake, and service documentation. Every piece is recorded and tracked from the moment it arrives until it leaves.

Workshop Standards

How We Work

Written Service Records

Every service produces a written note detailing what was inspected, what was replaced, and any observations for the client's reference.

Ultrasonic Cleaning

Mechanical components are cleaned ultrasonically before reassembly, removing degraded lubricants and fine debris from jewel seatings and pivot channels.

Timing Machine Regulation

All mechanical work ends with timing machine testing. Amplitude and beat rate are recorded and shared with the client as part of the service report.

No Surprise Charges

If the scope of a job changes during inspection, we contact the client before proceeding. Work beyond what was agreed does not happen without explicit approval.

Secure Piece Storage

All watches are logged on arrival, stored in a secure and climate-managed space, and receipted on drop-off. Collection is confirmed by message or phone call.

Proportionate Recommendations

We note worn parts and discuss them with the client. Nothing is replaced automatically. You decide what the watch needs based on our findings.

Watch Servicing in Bangkok — What We Do and How

Bangkok is home to a wide variety of wristwatches — brought in from abroad, picked up at domestic retailers, inherited from family, or collected over years. Many owners want servicing without the weeks-long wait or the uncertainty of sending a piece to a distant service centre.

At Horologion our work covers three main areas: quartz movement servicing, full disassembly cleaning and lubrication for mechanical calibres, and cosmetic refinishing covering straps, bracelets, and crystals. Each of these is a distinct discipline. A quartz service is primarily about checking the electrical path, the battery, and the seals. Mechanical work involves strip-down, cleaning of individual components, fresh lubrication at specific points, and regulation. Cosmetic work focuses on what the owner sees and touches every day.

We take care with older pieces in particular. Vintage movements use tolerances and lubricants that differ from modern calibres, and handling them incorrectly causes more harm than good. When a vintage watch comes to us, we assess the movement's condition and discuss any complications before starting.

Our location in Watthana district, just off Sukhumvit, is accessible from most parts of central Bangkok. We see clients from Thonglor, Phrom Phong, Asok, and further afield. Walk-ins are welcome during workshop hours, and we're happy to talk through what a watch may need before any commitment is made.
