What Clients Tell Us
A selection of accounts from people who have brought watches to Horologion — written in their own words.

I brought in my grandfather's Seiko 5 — hadn't been serviced in at least twelve years. The team assessed it, explained exactly what they'd found (a dried-out mainspring and corroded battery contacts from an old leak), and gave me a written quote before doing anything. The watch came back running properly and I have a report showing the before and after readings. That level of transparency is what I hadn't found elsewhere in Bangkok.
My everyday quartz needed a battery and a clean — a simple job, but previous shops had scratched the case or left fingerprints on the crystal. At Horologion the case came back clean and the gasket had been properly inspected. The service note was a nice touch — something to keep alongside the watch papers.
Dropped off an ETA-based automatic that had been gaining badly. The full service took around a week, which is reasonable given it included complete disassembly. The amplitude reading after was significantly better than before, and the watch now keeps within reasonable daily variance. Turnaround was as quoted and collection was smooth. I would have liked slightly more detail in the written report on what specifically was replaced, but overall — competent work.
I wanted a new strap and to have an old acrylic crystal polished out — nothing complex, but I'd had shops refuse the crystal polish before. Horologion did it in the same visit. The result wasn't perfect (there was a chip near the edge that couldn't be fully removed) but they told me that upfront before starting, which I appreciated. Honest shop.
I was nervous about leaving my mother's vintage dress watch — a 1970s manual-wind that belonged to her. The team handled the conversation about it carefully and didn't oversell what the service could do for a piece that old. It came back running and they'd noted a worn click spring that I could address at a future visit if I wanted to. That kind of restraint is reassuring when dealing with something irreplaceable.
I had three quartz watches that needed battery changes and one with a cracked mineral crystal. Horologion handled all four in two visits — the quartz services were done next day, the crystal swap took a few more days to source. Communication throughout was clear and in good English. Easy to recommend to other expats who want work done carefully rather than quickly.
Notable Service Cases
Vintage Longines Manual-Wind, c.1963
Watch had not been serviced in an estimated twenty-plus years. Power reserve very short and amplitude extremely low. Old lubricant fully solidified throughout the movement.
Full disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning. Several pivot holes reshouldered. Appropriate vintage-grade lubricants applied. Movement regulated across multiple positions.
Amplitude rose from 130° to 254°. Daily rate settled at +6 seconds — reasonable for a calibre of this age. Client has the timing machine report as a reference for future visits.
Casio Pro Trek Quartz, Persistent Battery Drain
Battery had been replaced three times in two years — always by third-party shops. Each replacement lasted only two to three months before failure. Suspected contact corrosion.
Opened the case and found badly corroded contacts from a previous battery leak that had been cleaned around rather than properly removed. Contacts cleaned thoroughly and sealed. New battery and gasket fitted.
Client reports watch running normally on the same battery over twelve months later. The root cause (contact corrosion) had been missed at every previous service.
Seiko SKX007, Strap Failure and Crystal Scratch
Original bracelet clasp was failing after years of daily wear. Acrylic-style display back had developed a deep scratch obscuring the movement view. Owner wanted it restored for regular use.
Replacement rubber strap from in-house stock fitted with new spring bars. Display back polished — scratch reduced but not fully eliminated. Client was shown the expected result before polishing began and chose to proceed.
Watch back in daily use. Client returned two months later for the quartz service on a different piece, noting that the strap had held up well in Bangkok humidity.
